Hi, It's been almost 3 months dari my last post hehe i'm officially backkk 😙. I tak nak buang masa sangat for introduction haha but to sum up my life right now, it was better than i thought. So happy jee kot hahaha. So jom la mulakan, enjoy..

APAKAH FINANCIAL TALENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME (FSTEP)?

To be honest, i never heard of FSEP before, but i just know it's kinda famous within banking/financial student. From someone with social sciences degree kan dia macam agak janggal sedikit la. So untuk yang tak tahu or still confuse, FSTEP is a graduate training programme yang dianjurkan oleh Asian Banking School and Bank Negara Malaysia with collaboration with various financial institutions like bank and insurance companies.

Maybe some of you guys heard about protege or mystep kinda things, but to be really honest with you FSTEP is wayyyy more better. First of all, you are being sponsored for 1 year. Apa you kena buat is to attend FSTEP for 3 months and work with your sponsored financial institutions for 9 months.

Lepastu, korang will be evaluated based on your performance whether to serap or not, literally based on your company. Salary? Sangat la above average ye. Minimum is RM 2600. Secara jujurnya i gitahu korang yang most of us got RM 3000 and above. Bagi i memang cukup banyak bagi fresh graduated yang tak ada pengalaman langsung lagi. Boleh bayang tak kalau dah diserap berapa banyak lagi salary offered haha banyak ye.

FSTEP APPLICATION PROCESS?

Memang semua orang lain-lain application process dia. Kalau i, I apply FSTEP dekat Jobstreet. Ada jugak my friend yang apply terus dekat ABS website and website company sendiri. Ada yang actually apply for management associates programme under bank or insurance company dorang, but then dihantar ke FSTEP. Jadi kalau berminat nak join FSTEP, selalu la alert dengan announcement. Setahun ada 2 batch so memang kena selalu alert.

Nak dijadikan cerita, after i apply dekat Jobstreet kan I terus lupa yang I apply hahaha sebab waktu tu memang I apply macam-macam. Graduate programme la contract job la and full time job jugak. So Jobstreet I memang busy la. One day kan i dapat call from HR, dia cakap dia from this one insurance company ni tapi i pelik sebab i tak pernah apply. Dia kata dia dapat resume I from FSTEP and tanya i berminat tak untuk role Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). I terus terkejut sebab i memang aim nak jadi HR huhu memang impian i tauuuu. Lepastu dia arrange la interview esoknya.

I pun pergi interview macam biasa, paling best sebab dia tak tanya i banyak technical related question sebab ni kan graduate programme so dorang dah sedia maklum yang kita ni still fresh graduates. Lepas habis interview, I macam ragu-ragu la sebab I nak sangat-sangat tapi takut tak dapat. Esok tu dia call lagi untuk second interview.. AHHHHH HAPPYNYA. So i attend interview with the head of HRBP from Hong Kong team. It turns out to be really well and luck was on my side. I got the job. Alhamdulillah.

Lepastu dapat la email yang i kena attend FSTEP dekat AICB selama 3 bulan and 9 bulan kerja dekat sponsored company. Harini genap 3 bulan i with FSTEP hehe esok graduation day and selasa bermula la first day going to work 😆

EXPERIENCES IN FSTEP?

I tak larat sebenarnya nak cerita specific semua hahaha tapi overall apa yang kitorang buat hari-hari are attending technical classes, soft skill classes and a lot of activities. Nanti akan ada schedule and boleh balik awal hari-hari hahaha which is 4.30 p.m. Best la tau sebab percaya la once you masuk kerja nanti, mustahil la nak balik awal camtu terutamanya bank hahahaha sorry guys.

Jadi basically 3 months programme ni untuk siapkan diri kita before masuk kerja nanti. All of the trainers sangat la well-trained and experienced. Boleh bayang tak yang actually one of us yang dipilih untuk join FSTEP ni was sponsored by Bank Negara sebanyak 20k each. Gila banyak. So programme ni sangat la prestige okay.

It was an eye opening experience for me and i build a lot of network meeting new people as well, i sampai sekarang tak percaya yang i was the chosen one. I dont think i special, a lot of my friends with better results from top university but at the of the day, I yang terpilih. How crazy is that? I percaya yang Allah dah atur this for me and I memang layak to be where i am right now.
